OPINION
Rafa Benitez is after cheap attacking options next season and we’ve got the perfect match for him.
Lazar Markovic hasn’t enjoyed life much since his massive £22.5million move from Benfica to Liverpool in 2014.
He’s shown flashes of brilliance along the way, but he’s only managed 34 appearances for Liverpool and has been shipped out on four loan moves.
However, he’s arrived back in Liverpool off an Anderlecht loan in red-hot form and Reds fans want to see him given a chance at Anfield next season.
He scored in the 2-0 pre-season win against Blackburn and it had many Liverpool fans saying Jurgen Klopp should give him a chance next season, preferring him over Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi.
Just hoping we have one more player like Shaqiri who can make a difference even if he comes on as a sub. Markovic should be on bench atleast. Had enough of Solanke and Origi. Solanke should be loaned for him to improve. Origi should be sold. Not just worth it. #LFC

However, that’s not going to happen.
Markovic has had his chance at Liverpool and it’s one he couldn’t take.
The £35k-a-week man has only got one year left on his contract and Liverpool won’t be in a position to charge much for him.
After arriving for £22.5million, we think Benitez could snap him up for around £5million, which would still leave £15million for a striker from the £20million they’re about to bank from Aleksandar Mitrovic.
As an inexpensive option from the bench, he’d be a bargain, and if Liverpool fans would prefer him to Solanke and Origi, he’s got to be worth a shot.
