Newcastle United must sign Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa after his impressive displays for Nigeria this summer.

The Magpies are desperately in need of a new attacker at the club as current options Dwight Gayle and Joselu can hardly be described as lethal finishers with the club only scoring 39 goals in 38 league games last season.

Musa has blistering pace, silky dribbling skills, the ability to play key passes and at the World Cup in Russia proved that he was a clinical finisher as he made the most of his limited chances in front of goal.

Nigeria went crashing out of the international tournament at the group stage bu Musa was a constant threat for them and during their game against Iceland he struck twice to give them their only win in the 2018 World Cup.

The speed demon may have only scored two goals in 21 league appearances for Leicester City since joining them in 2016 but it’s worth noting that the Foxes only allowed him to play 90 minutes in one of those league outings.

When loaned to CSKA Moscow for the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, Musa was able to score six goals in 10 league appearances as he was being regularly played by the Russian side.

According to the Daily Mirror’s Live Transfer Blog (Monday, 22:11), the Foxes are ready to cash in on the forward who is very much in demand following his World Cup displays.

The national newspaper state that Huddersfield Town and Fulham are keen on Musa as he could be a player capable of boosting their club’s current firepower.

With the Magpies’ Premier League rivals Leicester City reportedly ready to sell Musa after his disappointing spell at the King Power Stadium, the Magpies must sign him as he is more than capable of providing Rafa Benitez’s side with the goals they require.

With the right guidance, regular playing time, the speedy forward can be a force in the Premier League and would solve the Magpies’ problems in front of goal.

Therefore following his impressive World Cup appearances and his known attributes, the Magpies must sign Musa as a deal should be realistically able to be completed with the Foxes looking to sell.
