Newcastle United are reportedly considering selling winger Matt Ritchie this summer amid interest and should look to bring in West Ham’s Robert Snodgrass as his replacement.

The Telegraph claims that Middlesborough, Stoke City and Bournemouth are both keen on the 28-year-old, who is valued at around £15million.

It is understood that the Magpies are willing to sanction the wide man’s effort despite the fact he played a key role in Rafael Benitez’s side last season.

Newcastle will need to bring in a new winger if he does depart and a like-for-like replacement would be Snodgrass.

Wales Online report that Cardiff City are considering a move for the 30-year-old winger and that he is valued at around £12million.

It is unclear on if West Ham will want to sell him, but he did spend last season on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship and was highly impressive.

He was directly involved in 21 goals in 43 appearances for Villa and the winger could definitely fill the boots of Ritchie at St James’ Park.

Snodgrass is a left-footed genius that is a set-piece specialist and built completely in the mould of fellow Scotsman Ritchie.

Newcastle can’t afford to weaken their squad from last season and will have to go out and splash the cash if they do lose a figure as influential as Ritchie.

Benitez has now welcome goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng to his squad ahead of the new campaign, but there is still plenty more work that needs doing in the summer window.
