Newcastle United should forget about signing Kenedy after his price was reported and instead pursue Everton’s Yannick Bolasie.

The Magpies are unlikely to be big spenders in the transfer window as that has previously been their style and it would be a waste of time for them to pursue a target with a mammoth price tag.

Kenedy, as reported by the Chronicle on Wednesday, is valued at around £20million by Chelsea and is seen as one of their most-saleable assets.

Given the performances Kenedy made for the Magpies in the 2017/18 season there are no doubt plenty of clubs willing to pay that amount for the 22-year-old winger.

Benitez may be open to getting the Blues player on loan again, as stated in the Chronicles’ report about his value, but that might not be an option.

This means the Magpies need to look elsewhere in order to welcome a new winger in this window and they should switch their attention to the Toffees’ Bolasie.

The 29-year-old after overcoming his serious injury that has pretty much wrecked his Toffees career made 18 appearances in the 2017/18 campaign.

Bolasie seemed unable to get out of first gear on many occasions in his displays, due to still recovering no doubt, and the speed demon looks like he needs saving from Goodison Park.

It was previously stated by the Daily Mirror that the Toffees were going to shake up their squad in order to kick-start a new era under Marco Silva.

Bolasie is likely to be a victim especially when you consider that his club are reportedly in talks with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to Milliyet, and the Magpies must save him from a Premier League exit.

The Toffees are no doubt willing to be flexible in regards to getting the winger off their books as does he currently earn £75,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac).

After featuring in 119 Premier Leagues games and previously being a success at Crystal Palace in England’s top-flight, Rafa Benitez could apply some of his magic that seems to get the best out of players and restore Bolasie to his former glory.

Therefore the Magpies must switch their attention from Kenedy despite his amazing ability and save Bolasie from Goodison Park as that deal could be just as successful but easier to complete.
