Newcastle United fans on social media urged Rafa Benitez to consider using Adam Armstrong next season after the attacker’s latest display for England.
The 21-year-old featured for his nation’s U-21s side on Friday against Qatar and scored a goal, while creating two, to help his side win 4-0 against Qatar.
Armstrong’s impressive performance had Magpies supporters wishing for him to light up St James Park in the 2018/19 season after seeing him go out on loan twice in the recently concluded campaign.
The forward had a loan spell in the Championship with Bolton in the first half of the season, scoring three goals in 23 outings, before spending the second half of the campaign on loan at League One’s Blackburn Rovers.
At Ewood Park, Armstrong grabbed nine goals in 21 matches to help Blackburn finished second in League One and earn promotion to the Championship.
One supporter after watching the forward’s display on Tuesday urged for the local lad to be given a proper chance at the Magpies, while another claimed they wanted to see Benitez give the “massive” homegrown talent a chance.
Armstrong didn’t feature for the Magpies in the Premier League in the 2017/18 season, but has featured in England’s top-flight a total of 15 times for the Magpies.
Nothing But Newcastle have rounded up some of the best tweets about Armstrong’s performance:

He's twice the player Joselu is, and on half the wage

Just goes to show how bad the youth set up in this country is in general – a precocious talent wasted through poor coaching imo!
Is it any wonder Rafa wants to totally reform the club from youth team up?!

Yes, as third choice striker. Striker when the game has won. Cup games too.

Give him a chance. Still young and I think he would offer a lot off the bench with his movement.
