Newcastle are looking to significantly bolster their side at the end of the season and the services of a familiar name could be brought in, with the club still reported to be chasing a deal for a player who’s been linked with a move to Tyneside for some time.

Addressing the areas of the squad that could be bolstered, The Chronicle claims that Norwich City’s Josh Murphy is still on Rafael Benitez’s short-list and the Magpies could move to reunite the 23-year-old with his twin brother Jacob, who was signed last year.

Jacob Murphy has endured a varied campaign at St. James’ Park this season but Newcastle have high hopes for the young talent and his brother Josh, who plays mainly on the left but is capable of featuring on the right side, could also be part of Newcastle’s future as he was scouted during Norwich’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland last month.

Norwich may be pushed into a sale this summer due to their struggles in the second-tier and the club are already likely to lose highly-rated midfielder James Maddison, though the influx of cash provided by that sale could give the Canaries a stronger bargaining position to retain Murphy’s services.
