To be successful in a transfer window you must take every chance that comes your way, and there looks to be a big opportunity for Newcastle United this summer.

According to The Sun, the Everton dressing room is in crisis as players threaten to quit over a row between striker Oumar Niasse and midfielder Tom Davies.

The nature of the argument is not known, but the rift is described as a ‘deep division’ with Niasse involved in heated discussions with several senior first-team stars.

Young midfielder Davies is said to have considered meeting with his agent to discuss a potential exit from Goodison Park, and while that conversation did not materialise, Newcastle must plot an audacious swoop for the 19-year-old this summer.

The midfield area is one that needs massive strengthening this summer at St. James’ Park, with Jonjo Shelvey and Mo Diame carrying the team on their shoulders.

The lack of alternative options in the middle of the park is worrying for Rafa Benitez, who will no doubt be looking to bring in one or two new faces there this summer.

Davies is a perfect candidate, with the classy midfielder having the potential to go on to become one of the best English midfielders in the league in the coming years.

His break through at Everton has been highly impressive, and he has become a regular at Goodison, making 43 appearances in all competitions last season.

That kind of experience at such a young age is hard to come by, and Davies would have the opportunity to develop his game further under the watchful eye of Benitez.

It would normally be folly to suggest the youngster could leave his beloved boyhood club so soon, but this huge rift in the Everton dressing room has presented a unique opportunity to other clubs.

Newcastle must be among those looking to profit from this situation, and a swoop for Davies must materialise in the coming weeks.
