Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is interested in a move for centre-forward Tammy Abraham, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet claims that the Magpies have asked to re-sign Kenendy on loan from Chelsea next season, but are also keen on another one of their young stars.

It is understood that Benitez wants a summer deal for Abraham, who has impressed out on loan with Swansea in the 2017/18 season.

The report details that Newcastle missed out on the 20-year-old last summer, but are hoping to land him this time as Chelsea look to send him out on loan again.

Abraham is reportedly on a £50,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge and the England Under-21 international is tipped for a bright future.

Good move for Newcastle?

Newcastle are set to lose both Aleksandar Mitrovic and Joselu in the summer, which is why signing at least one new centre-forward is imperative.

Abraham would fit the bill nicely at St James’ Park and is a 6ft 3in monster that can lead the line well by himself.

The striker scored eight goals and managed five assists in his 38 Swansea appearances, numbers which will improve with more game-time and as he racks up more experience

Likely to happen?

Newcastle missed out on Abraham last summer, but seem to have a good chance to pick him up this time around.

They have massively helped Kenedy improve since he joined on loan in January and another Chelsea player could join on loan in the shape of Abraham.
