Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer.

Villa manager Steve Bruce admitted the future of the attacking midfielder is up in the air after his side lost the Championship play-off final to Fulham on Saturday.

The 1-0 defeat condemned the Midlands giants and their prize asset to another season in the English second tier, and will surely lead to interest from Premier League clubs.

“Of course there’s going to be speculation over Jack,” said Bruce, as quoted by the Express and Star. “Me personally, I would like him to stay. I think another year with us would do him the world of good.

“That’s my personal view. He’s playing regular football week in, week out, we’ll see what happens.”

Grealish has been outstanding for Villa in the second half of the season after undergoing kidney surgery, with his driving runs and ball-carrying ability attracting admiring glances from not just other Championship clubs.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals and supplied eight assists from 34 matches in all competitions, and has been the most fouled player in the division.

Newcastle supporters are convinced that Villa’s defeat has increased the possibility of Grealish leaving and have called on their club to get a deal done.
