Mohamed Diame completed 87 minutes in the win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon – and Newcastle United fans on Twitter were blown away by his performance.
The 30-year-old central midfielder was in destructive form, as the Magpies recorded a stunning 3-0 home victory over the Blues at St James’ Park.
Rafael Benitez’s side have finished 10th in the Premier League after their final day win and sent supporters home overjoyed after an eye-catching display.
Dwight Gayle opened the scoring for Newcastle in the first-half, while in-form playmaker Ayoze Perez added a brace in the second period.
Chelsea failed to secure a top-four finish after a shock defeat, but all credit went to the hosts who were bang at it from the first minute .
Newcastle fans on social media decided to single out Mohamed Diame for immense praise and they saw him get the better of Chelsea counterpart N’Golo Kante.
The Senegal international has played like a man possessed in the second half of the campaign and struck up a brilliant understanding alongside teammate Jonjo Shelvey in the heart of midfield.
