Newcastle United suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Wednesday, and gutted fans have taken to Twitter in force to call for the club to sign Kenedy on a permanent deal this summer.
The 22-year-old Brazilian flyer may well have played his last game for the club on Wednesday as he is ineligible to play against parent club Chelsea in the final game of the season, with his loan spell coming to an end after that.
The left-sided flyer put in an industrious performance against Spurs but was unable to make the same impact as he has done for the Magpies in previous matches.
He was eventually subbed off to a standing ovation from the travelling Toon Army after 71 minutes, with Jacob Murphy coming on in his place.
Newcastle fell on the night to a sublime goal from Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who curled a first-time effort into the top corner just five minutes after the break.
The Magpies fashioned several good chances, with Jonjo Shelvey hitting the post and Jamaal Lascelles forcing a good save, but could not break through to score.
Fans have now taken to Twitter in their droves to call on the club to sign Kenedy up again this summer, with many gutted to see him go.
Nothing but Newcastle have rounded up some of the best tweets:

Sad that Kenedy will go back to Chelsea and never to be seen again. I’d love Newcastle to sign him, but he’ll be out of our reach.

Would like to see Kenedy back at NUFC next season, even if it is only on loan.
Been up and down last few games but certainly lifts us when he’s on his game.
A young lad with plenty of promise.— Steve Wallwork (@stevewallwork) May 10, 2018
