Leeds United have made Manchester City’s Angus Gunn their number one goalkeeper target this summer, according to a reliable journalist.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Lee Sobot referred in an exchange with a Leeds fan on his personal Twitter account to interest in Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow but insisted Gunn is the keeper they are “really after”.
Sobot claimed the Championship giants are also keeping tabs on David Stockdale after the Chronicle claimed Darlow is on their radar.

No pretty quiet. Bit of chatter about the Journal saying club are interested in Darlow but Gunn is the ‘keeper Leeds are really after. Aware of Stockdale too.

OPINION
Gunn would certainly be a brilliant signing for Leeds, and it is understandable that he has been the main target for such a crucial position. It is certain there will be major changes on the keeping roster, and the overhaul will likely mean two exits and one, possibly two, arrivals. Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan fluffed their lines after their summer-2017 transfers and will surely be offloaded as Leeds seek top-quality competition for rising star Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who ended the campaign as the number one. It remains to be seen if the United academy product remains in that position. Much will depend upon the identity of the keeper Victor Orta and his recruitment team manage to sign. Aged 22 and standing at 6ft 4in (source: Transfermarkt), Gunn has the potential and pedigree to be a Premier League keeper for years to come after demonstrating during his first season of professional football why there is so much excitement about his progress. Stockdale and Darlow are also fine keepers, although both are at different stages of their career.
