Kenedy in a new left-sided role?
After playing 90 minutes in nearly all of Newcastle’s fixtures since returning from a three-month absence on Boxing Day, Paul Dummett was due a bad performance.
Dummett was dreadful against West Brom and was culpable for the goal, scored by Matt Phillips, that earned The Baggies a deserved victory, and was substituted by Benitez before the hour mark.
That change saw Kenedy drop in at left-back and the Brazilian clocked up a steady half-hour as part of the back-four, demonstrating his versatility and defensive capabilities.
Benitez may opt to grant Dummett a rest and start with Kenedy in the left-back role at Watford, a ploy that will allow the on-loan Chelsea winger to catch his own breath after a series of energetic displays since his January move.
