Newcastle United have surpassed expectations in the Premier League this season but Rafael Benitez is eyeing plenty of business in the summer transfer window, as he seeks to make his side more competitive next season.
The Magpies are set for a major squad overhaul and a report from The Chronicle identifies 11 players that will be offloaded from St. James’ Park, including in-form striker Aleksandar Mitrovic who has excelled during his loan stint with Fulham.
Newcastle will also offload Jack Colback, Henri Saivet, Chancel Mbemba, Matz Sels, and Achraf Lazaar in the market at the end of the season, while Curtis Good, Jesus Gamez, Massadio Haidara, Stuart Findlay, and Yasin Ben El-Mhanni will be offloaded for free.
The sales of Mitrovic, Colback, Saivet, Mbemba, Sels and Lazaar could be significant in the course of Newcastle’s summer, as it will raise funds for Benitez to spend in incoming business- on top of whatever the board hands to the Spaniard.
