Rafael Benitez has achieved his aim of keeping Newcastle United in the Premier League for next season but he’s active on the market to secure additions to bolster his attacking ranks, having seen his side struggle for consistency this season.

Joint top-scorers Ayoze Perez and Dwight Gayle have just five league goals each, leading Benitez to chase new recruits in the market- and he’s reportedly set to rival a promotion chasing side for the services of an international striker.

The Express states Newcastle, along with Everton, have joined Aston Villa in the hunt for Strausbourg forward Stephane Bahoken, who is said to be keen on a transfer to England this summer.

Steve Bruce’s Villa, sat fourth in the Championship with three games to play, attempted to sign the Cameroon international during January and remain keen on his signature heading into the close season.

Football betting tips from Thatsagoal.com suggest that Bahoken is on his way to the Toon, and it may well worth be a flutter as there is every chance he could join the side.

However, the emergence of Newcastle and Everton in the market for a striker who has scored six Ligue 1 goals in 14 appearances presents a problem, as the two clubs would definitely be able to offer top-flight football next term.
