Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is eyeing a host of new recruits this summer to bolster his squad after their first campaign back in the Premier League has seen the Magpies struggle to secure stability.

A vital win over Huddersfield Town last weekend has eased the pressure on the Tyneside giants but further additions are necessary- and the Magpies have been handed a potential boost in the market for an experienced midfielder.

Turkish outletĀ FanatikĀ report Besiktas skipper Oguzhan Ozyakup is keen on a move to the Premier League this summer, after seeing former teammate Cenk Tosun shine in English football following his switch to Everton.

The 30-cap Turkish international is rapidly approaching the end of his contract with Besiktas, who look destined to lose his services on a free transfer, and Newcastle are hopeful of being able to secure a bargain in the market.

However, as mentioned in reports we cited yesterday, Everton are said to lead the chase for the 25-year-old after holding promising talks with Ozyakup’s agent, whilst further interest comes from West Ham, Valencia and Arsenal.
