Newcastle United have struggled for consistency in front of goal this season, which is rather ironic considering Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ivan Toney are both excelling on loan spells elsewhere.

Speculation surrounding the future of Serbia international Mitrovic continues to be present but he may not be the only in-form man to leave St. James’ Park this summer, as Chronicle Live states the club could also cash-in on Toney.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a fine run of four goals in his last six appearances for Scunthorpe United, helping the Irons in their promotion push and taking his tally of goals since his January switch to six in the league alone.

Whilst he still has two-years left on his contract with Newcastle, the Magpies will make a decision this summer on whether to utilise Toney in the first-team or sell permanently- as they don’t want to lose another player on a free transfer.

If Rafael Benitez makes the decision that Toney isn’t the required standard, his services would be put on the market and a fee of around £450k could be earned from a sale, according to his valuation on TransferMarkt.
