Newcastle United have already surpassed their expectations this season, sitting on the verge of mathematically securing their Premier League status for another campaign.

Rafael Benitez’s side still have four matches to play this season and they’re set to have their ranks bolstered by the return of a number of loanees, including Jack Colback and Adam Armstrong.

With just two matches to go in the Football League calendar, Newcastle’s loanees away from the club will return to St. James’ Park with the potential to feature in the final two Premier League games of the campaign.

However, Benitez has stated he’s unlikely to use the players before the end of the season and that a decision on their futures will need to be made. Quoted by The Chroniclehe said:

“Some players will come back. I need to have a meeting with Steve Nickson and Ben Dawson about it. At the moment we don’t need more bodies because everybody is available.”

“We even have a problem when we play 11 vs 11 in training because somebody is left out. In terms of competition, it’s difficult for them. As I say we have had to leave a couple of players out of training.”

“So we can’t bring in more players if we are leaving some out. We have to make sure they (the current first team squad) get minutes in training so they compete in the squad to play.”
