Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United have performed admirably in the Premier League this season, with the performances of January recruits Kenedy and Martin Dubravka playing a huge part in the club’s revival.

The Spanish boss is looking to work his magic in the market again during the close season and has been widely linked with an interest in Belgium ace Dennis Praet, although it seems they’ll face stiff competition in the market.

Italian outletĀ Corriere Dello SportĀ state Serie A leaders Juventus are eyeing the services of Praet, looking to snatch his signature from Sampdoria, as they seek alternatives to Liverpool’s Emre Can- who’s yet to decide on his future despite having just months remaining on his deal.

Juventus’ interest in the market would come as a significant blow to Newcastle, who certainly can’t match what the Turin side are offering, but hope remains for Benitez’s side as the 23-year-old is just one name being considered by the Champions League regulars.

Emre Can remains the priority, whilst Barcelona’s Andre Gomes and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has been named as potential alternatives.
