Newcastle United have seen a number of players linked with a move to St. James’ Park this summer, as Rafael Benitez prepares for a busy transfer period.

The Magpies can afford to turn one eye towards the close-season market after a run of three consecutive victories has pushed them ten points clear of the relegation zone, although it seems the fight will continue into the transfer window.

Calcio Mercato report that Italian giants Inter Milan have entered the chance to land Sampdoria pairing Dennis Praet and Lucas Torreira, both of whom have been linked with a move to join Benitez’s side.

Belgium international Praet, 23, is a long-term target of Newcastle’s, whilst 22-year-old Torreira has been linked more recently with a move to Tyneside.

The interest in Torreira is hardly surprising considering his stellar displays in Serie A this season, scoring four goals, whilst Praet has also caught the eye with regular opportunities for Sampdoria.

Luring the pair to the Premier League will prove to be a difficult task for Newcastle though and the club could be set for disappointment.
