Newcastle United are on the verge of overcoming one battle and sealing their Premier League status for another season but they could be set for new fights on the transfer market during the coming months.
Spox claim Liverpool have opened discussions with the representatives of Red Bull Salzburg forward Valon Berisha, having recently watched the 25-year-old Kosovo international in action during the Europa League- where his side have remarkably sealed a spot in the semi-finals.
Berisha boasts an incredible return of six goals in his last eight appearances and has scored five in ten Europa League games this season, catching the eye of a number of sides, and it’s a blow to Newcastle in particular.
Chronicle Live recently reported that the Magpies have been tracking Berisha for the past 18 months and the emergence of Liverpool in the market could leave Rafael Benitez’s side empty-handed.
Newcastle will hope that an offer of more regular first-team opportunities will appeal to Berisha if a move is made this summer, as he’d face a wealth of competition to secure regular football at Anfield.
