Newcastle United have benefitted from an immense upturn in form over the course of recent weeks, securing three consecutive win to move ten points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone.
This improvement has seen a number of players rekindle their best form and Ayoze Perez’s performance has particularly caught the eye, with the Spain ace scoring in each of his last two appearances in the league.
Perez now has four goals in the Premier League, behind only Dwight Gayle, has he’s responded following a difficult spell earlier in the season where he came under immense criticism, now earning vast praise from Rafael Benitez.
Speaking about Perez ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal, the experienced boss said:
“He’s doing a great job for the team. Sometimes he can give the ball away, and he has to be more composed. But he’s working so hard and he’s gives us so many options, and if he can score these kind of goals, (it’s) much better for the team.”
“It’s important to have players working hard, also with some quality they can do these kind of things.”
Perez will look to continue his form against the Gunners this weekend, as Newcastle fight for a top-half finish.
