While Premier League survival is not yet guaranteed, Newcastle could take a significant stride towards safety by beating Huddersfield at St James’ Park this Saturday.

Rafa Benitez’s side have given themselves a strong chance of avoiding relegation after coasting past Southampton in the last home match and are currently five places and four points above the bottom three with eight matches remaining.

The visit of the Terriers – who ran out 2-0 winners on Tyneside in last season’s Championship campaign – is another opportunity for United to increase the gap between themselves and the drop-zone, though Benitez will be cautious of confidence turning into complacency amongst his players after a six-match unbeaten home run in league and cup.

David Wagner’s side have a habit pulling out big results in desperate situations, a fact that could influence how Benitez approaches the game with the Magpies boss unable to work with some of the key members of his squad this week due to international fixtures.

There are a few key decisions that Benitez must consider after naming the same line-up for the home wins over Manchester United and Southampton, while keeping players focused on the game-plan will be of paramount importance if Newcastle are to secure maximum points.
