It’s crunch time for Newcastle United in the Premier League, as the end of March’s international break signals the beginning of the run-in to the end of the season.

Rafael Benitez’s side have seven games left to secure top-flight safety and build upon their current four-point advantage over the relegation zone, heading into a crucial match against fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Victory for Newcastle could potentially give them a seven-point cushion over the relegation zone, putting them on the verge of securing a second season back in the Premier League, and a huge boost has been handed to the Magpies ahead of their game against the Terriers.

Chronicle LiveĀ state Leicester City loanee Islam Slimani is finally in line to make his debut for Newcastle United, after playing 25 minutes for Algeria this week.

The 29-year-old has not featured since scoring in Leicester City’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day and arrived at Newcastle with a thigh issue, then being kept on the sidelines by a number of setbacks.

A potential return this weekend gives Benitez a boost ahead of the game though, as it bolsters Newcastle’s attacking line.
