Newcastle United face a stern battle after the international break, as Rafael Benitez’s side look to increase their four-point margin over the relegation zone and secure Premier League safety.

The Magpies’ begin their run in the season finale with a clash against fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town this weekend, where a win would put Benitez’s men on the verge of retaining their top-flight status.

Remaining in the Premier League will have a serious effect on the club’s fortunes in the summer transfer market and Newcastle loanee Martin Dubravka has revealed his future all depends on whether the Magpies stay in the top-flight.

Speaking to Sport Pravda, the Sparta Prague-owned goalkeeper said:

“Everything depends mainly on how the team finishes in the top flight or whether we stay in it. In my opinion, it will also affect my future in the club. I will continue to focus on getting as many points as possible and thus avoiding relegation.”

“I think Newcastle will be in the Premier League, and then a permanent transfer will be possible. But as I said, I’m focusing exclusively on my performance at the moment.”

The 29-year-old immediately caught the eye on his Premier League debut with a stellar performance in a 1-0 win against Manchester United and kept another clean sheet prior to the international break, as Newcastle won 3-0 against Southampton.
