Newcastle 3-0 Southampton: four things for Rafa Benitez to ponder during the three-week break

|

No relaxing at the Spanish training camp

Leisure is a foreign concept to workaholics, and Benitez is unlikely to grant his players time to relax during the four-day trip to Spain for a training camp, that concludes with a friendly match with Belgian side Royal Antwerp on Sunday.

With safety yet to be mathematically assured, the United boss will be quite aware that it would be remiss to dial down the intensity of his training sessions at such a pivotal stage of the season or allow the squad to lose its focus.

Preparations for the Huddersfield clash will have started immediately after the final whistle last Saturday, and there is no doubt the players will all be put through their paces by Benitez and his coaching team over the next three weeks to ensure they are in peak physical and mental condition for match that could have major implications in the fight for Premier League survival.
