Newcastle United face a stern test after the international break to build upon their four-point advantage over the relegation zone and to secure their Premier League status for another year.

The Magpies have seven games remaining and a huge clash is on the horizon with fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town, who sit just a single point below Rafael Benitez’s side in the table.

With a win potentially putting Newcastle seven points above the relegation zone, taking their points tally to 35 and putting the Magpies on the brink of securing safety, the importance of the clash is clear- and Newcastle hope that one man could make his debut.

Chronicle LiveĀ report that Newcastle believe that loanee Islam Slimani has an ‘outside chance’ of making his debut in the clash against Huddersfield, after struggling with fitness ever since his arrival from Leicester City in January.

Slimani was called-up by Algeria for this week’s friendlies, to the dismay of Newcastle, but was left out of the side that won 4-1 against Tanzania- and Newcastle are hoping that he doesn’t feature in the upcoming clash with Iran.
