Jamaal Lascelles
Since moving to Newcastle, the central defender’s importance to the club has increased significantly and he now leads the side as well as the defensive line as captain- and he’s become a fan favourite on Tyneside.
Still just 24, Lascelles has plenty of years ahead of him and many tip him to be a future England international. Bigger clubs may fancy their chances of luring him away from the north East in order to potentially bolster those chances but Newcastle can’t afford to lose him.
Being made captain in 2016, Lascelles is now approaching the end of his second stint as leader of the dressing room and the improvements on the field show just how important he is to the club.
