Ghanian defender Daniel Opare has attracted a lot of space in the gossip columns during recent months, with both West Ham and Everton attributed with an interest in Augburg’s 27-year-old full-back. Despite the competition, Newcastle should enter the running.
The wide areas of defence have been a problem area for the Magpies this season and a player with Opare’s ability would provide a significant boost, as well as issuing a statement of intent to other Premier League rivals who are interested in his signature.
West Ham are currently the favourites for his services though and could make a move swiftly, so Newcastle will need to be prepared for a battle.
