Deandre Yedlin has 11-team battle for Premier League survival as ‘nuts’ as Newcastle look to take another huge stride towards safety this weekend.

Victory over Manchester United in their last league fixture sent the Magpies soaring up to 13th in the table and two points above the relegation zone with a trip to Bournemouth beckoning on Saturday.

In fact, Newcastle could even overtake The Cherries, who are 10th and only five points ahead of 18th-placed Southampton, on goal difference should they win by two or more goals at the Vitality Stadium , illustrating the congested state of the top-flight’s bottom-half.

With that in mind, Yedlin has revealed his disbelief at how close the table is and urged his United teammates to retain maximum focus if they are to replicate that win over Man Utd in future matches.

“It’s nuts down there, crazy,” Yedlin said to the Chronicle. “It just shows you that every point matters and if we can keep collecting wins like that against Manchester United we will be fine.

“It can’t stop here though. We still have a long way to go and we need to focus.”

Newcastle will be backed by 1,325 fans on the South Coast this week and Yedlin described the Toon Army support as “unbelievable” and admitted to being regularly amazed by the passion in the stands, both home and away.
