Find a suitor for Mitrovic
It’s been clear for a while that 23-year-old Serbian striker Aleksander Mitrovic is surplus to requirements in the North East and a number of suitors have expressed an interest in his services. It therefore appeared that selling the forward would be easy but that’s not been the case.
Newcastle want to sell in order to raise funds for their own January activity but approaches for Mitrovic have so far not been to Newcastle’s taste, as they’re keen for a fee and do not want a departure this month to only be on-loan.
It’s now time for Newcastle to be proactive. They need to make it clear what they want for Mitrovic and then offer his services around, otherwise their own move for a new striker is under threat of falling apart.
