Linked with a move to the Premier League and Newcastle United last summer, Tom Cairney has once again attracted top-flight interest as reports suggest that the Magpies’ relegation rivals West Ham are considering a swoop.
Newcastle can’t afford to let that happen and should make a fresh approach to bring the 27-year-old Scottish international to Tyneside, where he’d link up with compatriot Matt Ritchie and would become a crucial part of Rafael Benitez’s side.
With West Ham’s interest said to potentially result in a £15m approach, Newcastle would have to part with a pretty penny to land the Fulham man but he’d certainly be a valuable addition.
