Newcastle United remain very much active in the transfer market during the mid-season window and the remaining weeks will be crucial in the club’s battle to retain their Premier League status.

A lot of discussions are ongoing regarding incoming deals but outgoing pieces of business will be just as significant- and Newcastle aren’t messing around with their demands, if the latest reports are to be believed.

According to Football InsiderNewcastle United have rejected a staggering 22 loan offers for the services of Aleksander Mitrovic, attracting interest from across the continent and the rest of the world.

Sides interested in Mitrovic include many within the Premier League, where Brighton and West Brom are keen, French pair Bordeaux and Marseille, and Mitrovic’s former clubs Anderlecht and Partizan Belgrade.

However, Newcastle are only interested in a permanent sale of the 23-year-old Serbian and, as of yet, nobody has matched the Magpies’ £14m valuation.

An exit for the World Cup hopeful still seems likely but Newcastle have adopted a firm stance due to their need to raise funds for their own January activity, with Rafael Benitez also looking to bolster their own attacking lines after just 20 goals in 22 matches.
