Rafael Benitez’s future at Newcastle United looks set to become a feature in the tabloid press over the course of the coming weeks, with the Spaniard said to once again be frustrated with the Tyneside outfit.
The experienced manager is desperate to improve his struggling Premier League side as they seek to avoid an immediate return to the Championship but the first few weeks of the January transfer window have been quiet.
Benitez wants to complete his January activity before the 20th January and time is ticking towards his self-imposed deadline, with The Shields Gazette stating the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss is becoming agitated once more.
Newcastle are reported to have a new goalkeeper and a top-class striker at the top of their January wish-list, as well as seeking improvements to their wide areas as Benitez looks to have further versatility within his squad.
So far though, the club sat 13th in England’s top-flight are yet to conclude a deal and there’s no sign of any imminent signings.
