Newcastle United are close to completing a loan-deal for Chelsea star Kenedy, reports the Shields Gazette.
The 21-year-old – who joined the Blues from Fluminense in the summer of 2015 – has found first team opportunities difficult to come by at Stamford Bridge since his move.
He has made only three starts all season for Antonio Conte’s side, all of those coming in the Carabao Cup, and is yet to start a Premier League fixture this season.
The Magpies were close to completing a move for the Brazilian all-rounder during the summer, however the move fell through with Chelsea unable to find a suitable replacement in time.
The Blues were thought to be interested in Juve star Alex Sandro, and with them likely to reignite their interest after the New Year, a move for Kenedy now looks probable, with the youngster now looking set to make the switch to St James’ Park in January for the remainder of the campaign.
The addition will be a welcome boost for Benitez, a long-time admirer of the 21-year-old, with Kenedy being able to operate as either a winger, full-back or even a forward.
The Toon army seem to think it’s just a case of deja vu …
Basically same situation as the summer when we tried then

Isn’t this the saga that happened in the summer and we didn’t get him?
