Newcastle United continue to be embroiled in takeover talks but it’s looking extremely unlikely that a deal will be concluded before January. However, there could be a breakthrough.

The Independent journalist Martin Hardy has stated on social media this morning that Amanda Staveley may have made an improved offer for the Premier League side, having seen an initial bid for the Tyneside giants rejected.

Full details are yet to be revealed but it follows on from news that Staveley and Mike Ashley were pictured enjoying a meal in London last week, where it’s likely the topic of conversation was a potential sale.

Ashley has reportedly made his price clear and this could be the news that Newcastle fans have eagerly been waiting, as they seek to find stability that can help them climb back towards the top-end of the Premier League.

The Magpies have endured a turbulent time during Ashley’s decade at the club, experiencing two relegations but securing immediate promotion instantly.
