Newcastle United striker Joselu says he believes his side can get back to winning ways tonight as the Magpies meet West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Rafael Benitez’s side have endured a torrid past two months, losing eight of their last nine top flight games – a run of form that has seen them drop from as high as fourth down into the relegation zones.

Joselu, who signed from Stoke City during the summer, has also had a difficult start to life on Tyneside, finding the net only three times since his arrival, however the striker believes he and his club can reignite their seasons against the Hammers.

“It is very big – there are a lot of games,” Joselu told NUFC TV talking about the club’s busy festive period schedule.

“We are trying to focus on this weekend but then we will focus on every game because we can’t think about the future with a big game this weekend.

“It is very important. We need to win for us. We know it is difficult because the situation is not good but the team, the club and the staff are all together and we will fight for the three points.

“We know how to play West Ham and we know we need to play well,” the Spaniard continued.

“We need to stay calm in the game and score more goals than West Ham and win the game.

“Every game in the Premier League is difficult – we know that – but we need to win and we will go to West Ham’s stadium looking to take the three points.”
