Newcastle United fans are furious after yet another top flight defeat that leaves them only one point of the relegation zone.
The Magpies conceded yet another three points to Everton thanks to a solitary Wayne Rooney goal.
The 32-year-old netted from close range after Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow spilled Aaron Lennon’s first-half header, and extended the hosts’ winless streak to eight games.
The defeat also means Rafael Benitez’s side have lost seven of their last eight top flight games, a run of form that has seen them drop 12 places in the league and in serious danger of finding themselves in a relegation dog fight.
It also, much to the dismay of the Toon army, means o side has won fewer points in Europe’s big five leagues since the start of November than the Magpies, who have registered only a single point.
The fans aren’t happy, and can’t wait for the New Year to come …

As much as it hurts to say, I couldn’t agree more. Just hope the takeover will bring stability to the club but I feel like this season we are doomed and will be relegated. We won’t get/attract the players to keep us up. To little too late imo #NUFC
