Newcastle are one of a number of clubs tracking KV Mechelen winger Hassane Bande, according to HLN.

The Belgian publication reports that scouts from the Magpies watched the Burkina Faso midfielder play for Mechelen in the Jupiler Pro League match against KV Kortrijk on Saturday, where he scored in a 2-0 win

Rafa Benitez’s side are however not the only club interested in Bande. Representatives from five other clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Valencia, Sporting Lisbon, Benfica and Villarreal were also in the stands for the match.

The 19 year old has struck a rich vein of form in the last seven league games, scoring six goals, taking his total for the season up to nine in all competitions this campaign. It is all the more impressive considering he only made his professional debut against Antwerp back in August.

Bande generally plays as a left winger, but he can be played through the middle as a forward, although all of his games so far have been out wide.
