Newcastle United fans have called for ex-board member Dennis Wise to be given ‘every Bushtucker trial’ going after it was revealed he will compete in this year’s ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!’.

Wise cuts an unpopular figure on Tyneside following his spell as executive director for the Magpies between 2008 and 2009.

Not only did he come under heavy criticism for bringing a number of the club’s poorest players in recent years to St James’ Park (Xisco and Nacho most notably), he was also blamed for a number of other mishaps at the club during the time.

“I think I copped a lot of it for a lot of things that wasn’t really my decision.” Wise said speaking of his time with Newcastle in 2010.

“But I’ll take it, it’s part and parcel of it, it’s no problem. I’ve got broad shoulders and that is the way it is. I understand it.”

Now set to make his face known on the nationwide stage again on the ITV reality show, the Newcastle fans – some in jest and some not – have taken to Twitter to share their desire for the unpopular star to have the ‘jungle book’ thrown at him during his time on the air …
