Newcastle United are currently on a very poor run of form, having experienced four consecutive defeats ahead of tonight’s crucial clash with fellow strugglers West Brom.

The Magpies now sit just four points above the Premier League’s relegation zone and have suffered following injuries to key personal in recent weeks, though they were handed a boost in the defeat to Watford with Mikel Merino returning from a back problem.

However, Newcastle still remain without three crucial players in the first-team and Rafael Benitez’s latest injury update is not good news for the supporters, as he anticipates being without three injured personal for tonight’s game and the weekend’s clash with Chelsea.

Quoted by The Shield’s Gazettethe Spanish boss gave an update on Christian Atsu, Paul Dummett and captain Jamaal Lascelles.

“Each one is different. Dummett’s training, but still he needs to have the confidence that he can sprint at 100% and all these things, so still a little time.”

“Atsu is still recovering, but still a couple of weeks. We’ll see how he’s going on with his recovery.”

“Jamaal, I have been talking with. He can run, but still he needs to manage it a little bit when he has to turn. “How long? Not for this game. Chelsea? Very difficult for all three.”
