Newcastle United are preparing for a potentially exciting January transfer window, with the Magpies hoping to be led by a new board when the mid-season window opens.

Rafael Benitez has led his side valiantly this season but cracks have begun to surface in the past few weeks, with the club slipping to 11th in the Premier League following back-to-back defeats against Burnley and Bournemouth.

The Magpies have won just one of their last five matches, scoring just three goals in the process, and need considerable improvements in the January window if they’re to consolidate their position in the top-flight and push towards a return to European football.

Newcastle seem to have a plan though and are said to be ‘hooked’ on the services of Senegalese international midfielder Badou Ndiaye, a player fans may be familiar with after he was linked with a move in the summer.

The 26-year-old opted to remain in Turkey, leaving Osmanlispor for Galatasaray, but Sporx claims that Newcastle are desperate to bring the midfield to the Premier League- though they face competition from league rivals Leicester City.

Galatasaray are said to be willing to listen to offers in the region of around €20m but do not want to sell midway through the season.
