Newcastle fans full of praise as summer signing finally shows up

Newcastle United have endured a bleak run of form, with Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester United meaning the Magpies have suffered three consecutive defeats and have won just one of their last six Premier League matches.

Sat just five points above the relegation zone, and facing crucial games with the likes of West Ham and West Brom in the next six weeks, there’s certainly room for improvement but fans can be pleased with one player in particular.

After a slow start to life on Tyneside since moving from Norwich City, Jacob Murphy put in his best performance in a Newcastle shirt in the defeat to Manchester United and it seems that Rafael Benitez therefore has some talent to work with.

The 22-year-old played ninety minutes for the first-time in what was a bold decision from Benitez, as he had failed to provide a spark so far and faced a big test away from home against Manchester United.

Fortunately though, the youngster shined and fans took to social media to praise his performance- as well as giving credit to Benitez for injecting him into the side.
