Newcastle United are expected to confirm the takeover of the club within the coming week, reports The Sun.
Financier and her financial advisory firm Amanda Staveley/PCP Capital Partner and first aroused suspicion of a takeover when she appeared at the Magpies game against Liverpool earlier in the season.
That speculation was later confirmed when the Magpies current owner Mike Ashley officially put the club up for sale, and Staveley stated her interest in a purchase.
While it was originally thought any such move would have to wait until the end of the season, it is now reported that Staveley wants a deal done before Christmas so that manager Rafael Benitez can be given subsequent funds to spend in the January transfer window.
The deal for the Tyneside club is believed to be in the region of £380 million, with Mike Ashley parting ways with Newcastle after a controversial decade at it’s helm.
