Newcastle United are flying high in the Premier League this season but there’s still work for Rafael Benitez’s side to do as they seek to establish themselves as a stable side in the top-flight once again.
The Magpies saw their three match unbeaten run come to a close on Monday evening with a narrow defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor and will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend ahead of the international break, as they host Bournemouth.
A sense of optimism continues to wash over the club due to the ongoing takeover talks and it’s still hoped a deal can be concluded by Christmas, which could hand Benitez money to spend in January to improve his squad.
Work will have already begun in an attempt to find the ideal targets and Newcastle would do well to look north of the border, where a number of talented players in the SPL would be solid additions to the side.
