Newcastle United are gearing up for the January transfer window and seem to be eyeing targets, according to reports from the continent.

Sports Witness cites reports that claim Newcastle were amongst a number of Premier League sides in attendance for the recent Ligue 1 clash between Marseille and Bordeaux, where a number of targets could have been eyed.

Amongst those is highly-rated Bordeaux winger Malcolm, who’d be difficult to land, along with the likes of Marseille’s Maxime Lopez, Nicolas de Préville, Lucas Ocampos, Otavio and Francois Kamano potentially being eyed.

Newcastle’s priority for January is to improve their forward line and Bordeaux’s De Preville, who has scored just once since moving to the club from Lille, could have been assessed- although fans will surely want a more reliable scorer.

21-year-old Francois Kamano could be a more appealing option, particularly with growing suggestions that Aleksandar Mitrovic could leave, but it remains to be seen whether the scouting mission results in real interest.
