Newcastle United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Manchester United defender Luke Shaw, after reports have emerged the Red Devils are targeting a replacement for the out-of-favour star after the New Year.

Any move for the young full-back would all but signal the end of Shaw’s career in Manchester, paving the way for him to leave the club in search of more regular first team football.
