Newcastle United could complete the signing of Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen for as little as £9 million this January, reports TalkSPORT.
Manager Rafael Benitez is understood to want to add a new number one to his ranks after letting Tim Krul leave for Brighton during the summer, and has eyed the Netherlands international as his top choice.
Cillessen, who made just one appearance for the Catalan giants in La Liga last season and is yet to appear this campaign, is thought to be one of a number of players who will be allowed to leave the Camp Nou after the New Year as Barcelona try to lower their wage bill.
The Dutchman signed for Barca in the summer of 2016 for a fee of around €15 million from Ajax, however could now be allowed to leave for a slightly lower fee of around £9 million after only a season and a half with the La Liga club.
