Magpies on of two PL clubs to have held talks with Turkey star this week

|

Both Newcastle and Tottenham held talks this week with Turkish side Besiktas over the January transfer of star striker Cenk Tosun, reports Turkish news outlet Habertuk.

Tosun, who has netted 11 times in all competitions already this season, has attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs over the past months.

The Turkey international was close to joining Crystal Palace during the summer, however no deal materialised.

After his impressive form has continued however, interest has again picked up, with Newcastle and Tottenham both keen on adding the striker to their rosters.

The duo are reported to have already spoken to Besiktas about a potential move for Tosun after the New Year, with the Super Lig club believed to value him in excess of £20 million.

Magpies boss Rafael Benitez is especially keen on Tosun as he looks to bolster his attacking options, with his trio of current strikers Alexandr Mitrovic, Joselu and Dwight Gayle having managed to find the net only 4 times between them so far this season.
