Newcastle United have performed admirably in their return to the Premier League this season and optimism has been raised significantly off the field too, as negotiations regarding a takeover continue.
The aim is to have a deal concluded by Christmas and that will hand the Magpies a crucial financial boost heading into the New Year, improving the situation surrounding Rafael Benitez and helping to provide a platform to build upon.
Given their performances this season, and the poor impressions from the usual European candidates Southampton, West Ham and Everton, a route into the Europa League isn’t unrealistic and could happen.
It would certainly be a challenge but Newcastle have the capability to return to the European stage and take their spot amongst the big boys on the continent once again, which is where a club of the Magpies stature deserve to be.
